Bibliographies

There are two different types of bibliographies available on this website.

German Law Archive Database. This is an on-line bibliography which aims to include everything published on German law in English language, which you can search e.g. by author, title words, our own classification, etc. It is constantly updated. You can also suggest new entries.

The German Law Archive Database began in 1998 as a joint project by Gerhard Dannemann, Christian Denning, Stefan Enchelmaier, Sven Reckewerth, Christiane Trüe and Alexander Türk, sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service. We are also grateful to Sylke Piech for having registered the first 1,000 entries with great diligence and under adverse conditions. In 1999, Konrad Rusch took over as database editor.

There are also two bibliographies published in text form. They will not be updated. However, their content will gradually be entered into the database. This will take some time. In the meantime, both bibliographies contain much information which you will presently not find in the Database. It is therefore well worth consulting these bibliographies. You can either follow the links below:

Or you can search these bibliographies through the search mechanism for German Law Archive publications.

Link 1: For those interested in criminal law, we recommend that you also visit the on-line compilation "Literature on German Criminal Law in English", edited by Barbara Huber of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, Freiburg.

Link 2: For those interested in civil, commercial and business law, we recommend that you also visit the following on-line bibliography of translated German statutes and literature:  German Business and Commercial Laws: Guide to Translations into English and Select Auxiliary Sources, edited by Martina Kammer.
